Facilitators and caregivers may often worry about the impact of online learning<\/a>\r\n on the development of learners\u2019 motor skills. It is important for caregivers to ensure that the virtual learning environment continues to support motor skill development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step in this effort is to understand what fine and gross motor skills are, and why it is important to focus on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While fine motor skills involve the use of small muscles\u2014such as those in the wrists, hands, fingers, feet, and toes\u2014gross motor skills rely on larger muscles responsible for whole-body movements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
