Manjula Senthamarai Kannan

With over 20 years of experience in education, my teaching journey has evolved alongside the changing ways in which students learn. As a Cambridge Mathematics and Computer Science educator, I believe that strong conceptual understanding, curiosity and problem-solving are more valuable than simply arriving at the correct answer. At 21K School, I blend academic rigour with technology, real-world applications and interactive learning experiences that encourage students to think, explore and grow with confidence. Beyond the classroom, I contribute to initiatives such as Mathalon, the Innovation & Technology Club and student leadership programmes. As a lifelong learner, I continually explore emerging EdTech and AI-enabled approaches to make online education more engaging, inclusive and meaningful.

I teach because I love the moment when a learner moves from saying, “I can’t do this” to “Let me try.” Over the years, I have learnt that students may not always remember every formula or line of code we teach them, but they remember the confidence to approach a problem, make mistakes and try again. Mathematics and Computer Science give me wonderful opportunities to nurture that mindset. For me, teaching is not just about preparing learners for an examination; it is about helping them become curious thinkers, confident problem-solvers and independent learners.
