Beena Vijji

With over 16 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of teaching and nurturing learners across diverse learning environments. My journey has taken me from a traditional school setting to the dynamic world of online education, where I currently facilitate Grade 5 English at 21K School. I am passionate about creating learner-centred experiences that go beyond textbooks, using stories, creativity, inquiry and meaningful conversations to develop communication skills, confidence and a love for learning. I believe education is most impactful when learners feel heard, valued and empowered to explore, question and discover.

I didn’t begin my career in education, but life eventually led me to where I truly belonged. After working in the corporate world and later taking time to be there for my family, I discovered the joy of teaching when I stepped into a School close to home. What began as an opportunity soon became a calling. Over the years, I have learnt that teaching is not simply about imparting knowledge, it is about nurturing curiosity, building confidence and helping young minds discover what they are capable of. Every learner who finds their voice, asks a thoughtful question or looks at the world with renewed curiosity reminds me why I teach.
