In the two-Board-Examination system, the students who get their result in the Compartment category in the first Board Examination will be allowed to appear in the second Board Examination under the Compartment category in the 2026 examinations.

As per the clarification issued by CBSE on 15 February 2026, students who have appeared in the first examination with a Compartment result can appear in the second examination in the Compartment category. It also allows for improvement and combined categories (improvement and compartment).
