Vanita Mishra

With 13+ years of experience in teaching middle and high school learners, I see education as a journey of continuous learning, growth, patience, and perseverance. I believe every learner is unique and that meaningful learning happens when curiosity is encouraged and learners are given the opportunity to explore.

As a Science educator, I create learner-centred experiences through hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, digital and virtual labs, simulations, gamification, and real-life applications. I consciously foster Habits of Mind such as questioning, reasoning, persistence, and reflection, while using Visible Thinking strategies to help learners articulate their ideas, make connections, and reflect on how they learn.

My classrooms encourage inquiry, collaboration, peer learning, learner-led activities, and problem-solving, enabling learners to move beyond knowing concepts to thinking deeply and applying their learning meaningfully.

My journey has also extended into leadership through my role as an ISA Coordinator, where I have developed a strong belief in collaboration, empathy, and shared growth. I have been fortunate to receive the Best Teacher Award at G.D. Goenka Global School and the Super Teacher Award at APS Delhi Cantt.

My experience as a Girls’ Hostel Matron further strengthened my belief that effective education begins with understanding the person behind the learner.

Today, I strive to be a teacher, mentor, leader, and lifelong learner, continually reflecting, adapting, and growing.

For me, excellence is not a destination—it is a commitment to becoming better every day.

I teach because it is my passion, and I genuinely enjoy learning alongside my learners. Every classroom brings new questions, ideas, surprises, and opportunities to grow. What I love most is seeing that moment when a learner moves from “I don’t know” to “I figured it out!”—that curiosity, excitement, and confidence make teaching deeply rewarding for me. For me, teaching is not just about sharing knowledge; it is about creating experiences, building connections, and growing together with my learners.
