Yvette Kingsley Correa

My teaching journey spans 11 years in the IGCSE curriculum, during which I have had the opportunity to work with learners across different age groups and abilities. Over the years, I have developed a deep passion for teaching English Language, grammar, reading, comprehension, and creative writing, with a strong focus on helping students become confident and independent communicators. My experience has taught me that every learner has a unique pace and style of learning, and I strive to create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and purposeful. I particularly enjoy simplifying complex language concepts and turning them into practical, enjoyable learning experiences. Beyond academics, I believe in nurturing students' confidence, curiosity, and love for language. My journey as an educator has also inspired me to create my own teaching resources and explore creative writing, including publishing my first children's storybook.

I remember once spending an entire afternoon baking a cake that simply wouldn’t rise. Instead of giving up, I went back to the basics—measuring carefully, understanding the ingredients, and trying again. It made me realise how much baking has in common with teaching: both require patience, precision, creativity, and the courage to learn from mistakes. Just as a cake comes together one ingredient at a time, I believe students grow one small achievement at a time—and that is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.
