Simple & Fun Process
21K’s Grade 1 online school works around short live lessons and hands-on activities. It encompasses four elements: personalised onboarding, fun and short live classes, play and interaction, and parent portal updates.
It starts with a quick 30-minute counsellor onboarding call for setting up the learning platform, confirmation of class timings, and introduction of the homeroom facilitator (HRT).
The fun and short live classes last about three hours daily, with 40-minute lessons and having movement breaks between them. These short live classes match the attention span of Grade 1 learners.
The play and interaction activities like games, hands-on tasks, show-and-tell, and storytelling enhance the live online learning experience.
Parents or guardians receive the daily synopsis of their child’s day on the parent portal after the last class. The homeroom facilitator (HRT) meets you in 15 days, and the photos of your child are shared exclusively with you inside the private portal only.

What Makes Us Special
Our grade 1 learners enjoy short live lessons, hands-on exploration, small class sizes, Habits of Mind, continuous assessment, and an emotional well-being check. Our 6-year-olds learners go through what they can learn best by doing and can hold attention for.
Our young learners have short live lessons running around 40 minutes with a 10-minute movement break to ensure high levels of attention and focus.
We encourage hands-on exploration for our learners with sorting, measuring activities, simple experiments, and counting using everyday objects. It ensures some time of the day away from the screen.
The small class sizes for our grade 1 learners, a Class of 24 or a Class of 20 based on the selected class size, ensure specialised attention to your child.
We focus on developing core habits such as Persisting, Managing Impulsivity, Listening with Understanding and Empathy, and Thinking Interdependently in our grade 1 learners. 21K School is the first online school in Asia recognised by the Institute for Habits of Mind.
The continuous assessment of our grade 1 learners is ensured with the activities and short online quizzes held by our facilitators. There are no high-stake examinations for six-year-olds, but the progress is continuously reported to the parents in every term.
We ensure the emotional well-being of our grade 1 learners with a quick feelings check-in in the morning. Our facilitators note any possible concerns in the learner record and inform parents or guardians during the Parent Connect session.

Common Questions
Everything parents ask before enrolling their little one.
The class size in grade 1 depends on the option selected, a Class of 24 or a Class of 20, across the four different session timings: 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., or 3:20 p.m. IST.
Grade 1 at 21K School is different from other schools as we’ve fun and short live classes that last about three hours daily, with 40-minute lessons, have movement breaks, and the same homeroom facilitator all year. We provide a daily synopsis on your portal and a scheduled 1-on-1 conversation with the facilitator every 15 days.
The teaching methods used in Grade 1 are interesting and engaging at the same time. Some of the best techniques cover simple inquiry experiments, systematic phonics, and connection with real-world objects. Our live classes run in 40-minute sessions with structured movement breaks along with off-screen activities.
We support reading in grade 1 learners by progressing the session systematically from letter sounds to blending, high-frequency words, and short stories. For writing development in 6-year-olds, we start with letter formation and build toward full sentences.
Your child is on screen for about three hours, which is divided into 40-minute classes separated by screen breaks. The inclusion of off-screen learning is ensured with physical activities, writing practice, reading, and hands-on home projects.
Most of your six-year-old learners adapt to our simple online schooling within one to two weeks. Yes, an adult needs to sit with your child for the first few weeks to help them with the learning portal and managing the physical breaks.
