FAQs

There is nothing better than JEE Main, the most serious exam to take after Class 12 and the ultimate opportunity of getting into the NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and the fortunate JEE Advanced test. There are other great engineering entrance tests like BITSAT and VITEEE.

In India, there are more than 20 major engineering entrance exams, including national engineering entrance examinations, state engineering entrance tests and university engineering entrance tests. These include some tests such as: JEE Main and JEE Advanced, BITSAT, VITEEE, MH CET, WBJEE, KCET, KEAM and COMEDK UGET.

JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT and IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) are the most important national-level engineering entrance exams. These tests grant entry into some of the top-tier engineering and science schools of India.

No exam is easy, and it depends upon the individual talent and practice. However, there are other exams such as MHT CET, KCET, GUJCET and AP EAPCET which are generally assumed to be comparatively easy as compared to JEE Advanced.

A number of private universities have their own entrance examination (such as VITEEE (VIT), SRMJEEE (SRMIST), BITSAT (BITS Pilani), MET (Manipal Academy of Higher Education), KIITEE (KIIT), LPU NEST (Lovely Professional University), SNUSAT (Shiv Nadar University)).

No. Though it is mandatory to apply to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and participate in JEE Advanced, engineering admissions are provided in most state institutions of higher education and by privately run institutions with their own entrance test or with their own counselling process.
