About Rina

An accomplished Social Studies facilitator with 18+ years of diverse experience in primary and secondary education, specializing in inquiry-led learning, assessment, and academic mentoring. Passionate about fostering critical thinking, student agency, and meaningful learning experiences while empowering teachers and learners to achieve academic excellence.

With 18+ years of experience in education, I have built a diverse and evolving teaching journey across primary and secondary school settings in Hyderabad and Lucknow, growing from a Social Studies teacher into a curriculum-focused educator, coordinator, and Subject Matter Expert. My journey began with teaching Social Studies at the secondary level, where I developed a strong interest in history, historical inquiry, and helping students connect the past with the world around them. Over the years, I expanded my experience into primary education, early childhood education, academic coordination, curriculum planning, and teacher mentoring. As a primary educator and coordinator, I focused on creating activity-based, cross-curricular and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, while working closely with students, parents, teachers, and school leadership. My experience at Edify World School further strengthened my expertise in Social Science and Global Perspectives within MSP and Cambridge CAIE frameworks, alongside my role as a Subject Matter Expert supporting content accuracy and pedagogy. In my recent roles at Pallavi International School and Ortus International School, I have moved increasingly into curriculum development, academic quality assurance, instructional guidance, and teacher support, collaborating with academic teams to strengthen curriculum alignment and classroom practice. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to a student-first approach, integrating inquiry-led learning, Project Zero Thinking Routines, Multiple Intelligences, Project-Based Learning, and Bloom’s Taxonomy to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, reflection, and student agency. My academic background in History, including a Master’s degree with a focus on modern and medieval history and South Asian studies, together with my Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning and other professional training, continues to shape my approach to teaching and curriculum design. Today, I see myself not simply as a teacher, but as an educator, curriculum designer, mentor, and lifelong learner, committed to making learning meaningful, engaging, inclusive, and relevant to the needs of every learner.

Rina’s Philosophy

Every child can learn when given the right environment, support, and opportunities.
I believe in a student-first approach where learners are active participants in their own learning.
Learning becomes meaningful when students connect classroom concepts with real-life experiences.
I believe inquiry and questioning empower students to think critically, explore ideas, and become independent learners.
Teaching should move beyond memorisation and develop critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Every learner is unique, and teaching should recognise and nurture different abilities, interests, and learning styles.
Activity-based and project-based learning help students transform knowledge into meaningful experiences.
I believe assessment should support learning by providing constructive feedback and opportunities for improvement.
A positive and inclusive classroom environment enables students to learn with confidence, curiosity, and respect.
Teachers are facilitators who guide learners to discover knowledge rather than simply deliver information.
Education should develop not only academic achievement but also responsible, reflective, and globally aware individuals.
Continuous learning and reflection are essential for teachers to grow professionally and improve student outcomes.
