About Sutapa
Sutapa Ghosh is a passionate Economics facilitator, lifelong learner, and compassionate educator who inspires young minds through meaningful, inclusive, and joyful learning.
Sutapa Ghosh is an accomplished Senior Secondary Economics facilitator at the Indian Senior School (ISS), 21K School, with more than 18 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and empowering high school learners. A passionate educator and lifelong learner, she is committed to transforming Economics from a subject of concepts and theories into a meaningful tool for understanding the world and making informed decisions. Her practice is rooted in experiential and inclusive learning, critical thinking, skill development, and the integration of Habits of Mind, enabling learners to become confident, reflective, and independent thinkers. She actively contributes to academic planning, curriculum development, assessments, student engagement, parent communication, and collaborative school initiatives, consistently working to enrich the learning experience beyond the classroom. Known for her dedication, warmth, creativity, and growth mindset, Sutapa strives to create learning environments where every learner feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their potential. Outside education, she is a crochet artist and entrepreneur who enjoys singing, travelling, cooking, and baking—expressions of the creativity, curiosity, and passion that define her journey both as an educator and as an individual.
I did not begin my teaching journey very early in life, but perhaps that is what makes my story special. When I stepped into the classroom, I discovered that teaching was not merely about explaining concepts—it was about connecting with young minds, understanding their individual journeys, and helping them believe in themselves. Over more than 18 years, I have watched learners join my Economics classroom with different abilities, personalities, dreams, and challenges, and I have learned that sometimes the most meaningful lesson is not the one written on the board, but the confidence we help a learner build within themselves. Economics has given me a wonderful way to connect classroom learning with real life, but my students have taught me something equally valuable: every learner has a story, and every learner deserves to be heard. I teach because I believe education can change not only what a child knows, but also how they think, how they see the world, and how they see themselves. Every time a learner says, “Ma’am, I finally understood it,” or returns years later to share how a lesson stayed with them, I am reminded why I chose this journey—and why, even after 18+ years, I still join my classroom with the same sense of purpose, curiosity, and gratitude.
