About Abhayashree

I am a passionate educator with 10 years of teaching experience in CBSE and IB curriculum. I believe teaching is more than a profession—it is a calling. I strive to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning in my students. I aim to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued and motivated to grow. Beyond teaching, I have a deep love for singing, reading, artwork, and gardening. Singing brings joy and allows me to express myself creatively, while reading continuously broadens my knowledge and perspective. I also enjoy engaging in artwork, which nurtures my creativity, and gardening, which gives me peace and a deeper appreciation for nature.

I am a passionate and dedicated educator with almost a decade of teaching experience, committed to creating meaningful, engaging, and learner-centred learning experiences. My teaching journey has been shaped by a strong belief that every learner is unique and has the potential to grow when provided with the right environment, encouragement, and opportunities. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Education and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, I bring together academic knowledge, creativity, and practical skills to my teaching practice. Over the years, I have worked with learners across different age groups and learning needs, continuously adapting my approaches to make learning more accessible, purposeful, and enjoyable. As a Grade 5 facilitator at 21K School, I focus on inquiry-based and experiential learning, encouraging learners to ask questions, think critically, collaborate, communicate their ideas, and make connections between classroom learning and the world around them. I enjoy integrating technology and interactive platforms into virtual learning to make online classrooms engaging and inclusive. Beyond academics, I value the social-emotional development of learners and strive to build a safe classroom culture where every learner feels heard, respected, and confident to participate. I believe that teaching is not simply about imparting knowledge; it is about inspiring curiosity, nurturing confidence, developing lifelong learning skills, and empowering learners to become thoughtful and responsible individuals. My journey as an educator continues to be one of learning, reflection, and growth, as I constantly explore new strategies, collaborate with colleagues, and seek opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of my learners.

My teaching journey began long before I officially became a teacher. During college, my friends would often come to me whenever they struggled to understand a concept. They believed I had a way of explaining things that made difficult ideas feel simple and easy to understand. I would patiently teach them, explain the concepts in different ways, and make sure they understood before moving on. The funny irony? They often went on to score better than I did!

Looking back, I think those moments were my first glimpse of what I was truly meant to do. I have always had a natural love for children and a genuine joy in helping others learn. Although I initially began my professional career as a banker, I soon realised that something was missing. I enjoyed my work, but my heart was always drawn towards teaching, connecting with learners, and helping them discover their potential.

Eventually, I chose to follow that calling and began my journey as an educator. Nearly a decade later, I can confidently say that teaching was not just a career change—it was finding what I was meant to do.

What I love most about teaching is witnessing those little moments of transformation: when a learner who was unsure suddenly says, “I understand!”, when a quiet child finds the confidence to share an idea, or when a learner makes a connection that goes beyond the textbook. These moments remind me why I chose this profession.

For me, teaching is about much more than academics. It is about building confidence, nurturing curiosity, listening to children, and creating a space where they feel valued and empowered. My journey from a banker to an educator has taught me that sometimes our first career is not necessarily our true calling. Sometimes, our calling has been quietly waiting for us all along—and for me, it was teaching.
