One of the greatest joys of teaching is hearing a learner say, “I never liked this subject before, but now I enjoy it.” Moments like these have stayed with me throughout my 24-year journey as an educator. They remind me that teaching is not simply about completing a syllabus; it is about changing the way a learner sees a subject, a question, or even themselves.

I teach because I love that moment when curiosity takes over—when a learner begins to question, connect ideas, share an opinion, or confidently say, “I have an idea!” For me, the classroom is a place where both the learner and the teacher continue to grow. If, along the way, I can help a child discover confidence, develop a love for learning, or believe a little more in their own abilities, I feel I have made a difference.
