Simple & Fun Process
How does 21K’s Grade 1 online school work?
21K’s Grade 1 online school works around short live lessons and hands-on activities. It encompasses four elements: personalised onboarding, fun and short live classes, play and interaction, and parent portal updates.
- 1
Personalised Onboarding
It starts with a quick 30-minute counsellor onboarding call for setting up the learning platform, confirmation of class timings, and introduction of the homeroom facilitator (HRT).
- 2
Fun and Short Live Classes
The fun and short live classes last about three hours daily, with 40-minute lessons and having movement breaks between them. These short live classes match the attention span of Grade 1 learners.
- 3
Play and Interaction
The play and interaction activities like games, hands-on tasks, show-and-tell, and storytelling enhance the live online learning experience.
- 4
Parent Portal Updates
Parents or guardians receive the daily synopsis of their child’s day on the parent portal after the last class. The homeroom facilitator (HRT) meets you in 15 days, and the photos of your child are shared exclusively with you inside the private portal only.

Common Questions
Questions parents ask about Grade 1
Everything parents ask before enrolling their little one.
What is the class ratio in Grade 1?
The class size in grade 1 depends on the option selected, a Class of 24 or a Class of 20, across the four different session timings: 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., or 3:20 p.m. IST.
How is Grade 1 at 21K School different from other schools?

We provide a daily synopsis on your portal and a scheduled 1-on-1 conversation with the facilitator every 15 days.
What teaching methods are used in Grade 1?
The teaching methods used in Grade 1 are interesting and engaging at the same time. Some of the best techniques cover simple inquiry experiments, systematic phonics, and connection with real-world objects. Our live classes run in 40-minute sessions with structured movement breaks along with off-screen activities.
How do you support reading and writing development?
We support reading in grade 1 learners by progressing the session systematically from letter sounds to blending, high-frequency words, and short stories. For writing development in 6-year-olds, we start with letter formation and build toward full sentences.
