About Tanuja

Tanuja Amin is the Principal at 21K School and a passionate education leader committed to transforming learning through innovation, empathy, personalised learning, technology, and strong human connection. She is dedicated to nurturing confident, capable, and responsible learners while ensuring every learner finds their path.

Tanuja Amin is the Principal of 21K School and an education leader with a journey spanning classroom teaching, curriculum development, assessment, academic leadership, and school development. Beginning her career as a classroom educator, she gained experience across the IB, Cambridge International, and CBSE curricula, teaching and working closely with learners while continuously reflecting on how learning could be made more meaningful and effective. Her journey then evolved into curriculum design and academic development, where she worked on curriculum, learning resources, reading programmes, assessments, teacher training, and academic audits across different grade levels.

Today, as Principal of 21K School, she brings these experiences together with a strong belief that education must go beyond academic achievement. She is passionate about creating a learner-centred culture where learners are encouraged to question, explore, think independently, collaborate, reflect on their learning, and take ownership of their growth. She believes in bringing together strong pedagogy, learning science, technology, and meaningful human connection to create learning experiences that are personalised, purposeful, and relevant to each learner.

Her leadership is grounded in the belief that a school should continually learn, unlearn, and evolve. She works closely with facilitators, learners, and families to build a culture of curiosity, empathy, resilience, agency, and lifelong learning. As Principal, her vision is to create an environment where every learner is seen, supported, challenged, and empowered to discover their strengths and find their own path.

For me, teaching has always been about more than helping a learner find the right answer. It is about being part of those moments when a learner suddenly understands something, asks a question no one expected, finds the confidence to try again, or discovers something about themselves along the way.

My journey began in the classroom, and it was there that I learnt one of the most important lessons of my career: every learner learns differently, and every learner has a story worth listening to. Over the years, moving from teaching to curriculum development and academic leadership, that belief has only grown stronger. I have seen how a small shift in the way we teach, the questions we ask, or the opportunities we give learners can change the way they see themselves as learners.

Today, as the Principal of 21K School, I continue to be driven by the same belief that brought me to education in the first place — that school should not simply prepare learners to pass examinations; it should help them become curious, confident, resilient, compassionate, and capable of finding their own path.

Perhaps that is why, even after all these years, I still see myself as a learner too — learning from children, from facilitators, from experiences, and from the questions that challenge us to rethink what education can be.

Tanuja’s Philosophy

Every learner has potential, and our role is to create the conditions in which that potential can flourish.
Education should go beyond academic achievement to develop curiosity, confidence, resilience, empathy, agency, and purpose.
Learners learn best when they are given the freedom to question, explore, make choices, take risks, and learn from mistakes.
Every learner deserves to be seen, heard, understood, and supported in finding their own path.
As educators, we must be willing to learn, unlearn, and continually evolve alongside our learners.
Technology can transform learning, but it is meaningful human connection that makes education truly matter.
