I have always enjoyed teaching Social Science because there is so much more to it than dates, maps and definitions. A good lesson can make learners curious about a place they have never visited, question why societies work the way they do, or look at an ordinary event from a completely different perspective. In my classroom, I try to create that kind of learning through discussions, stories, activities, maps, projects, digital tools and real-life situations. I enjoy working with middle-school learners because they are naturally curious and often ask questions that make me rethink the way I teach a topic. For me, teaching is a continuous process of learning alongside my learners.
