Bhavya Vijayan

I am an educator and Curriculum Developer with over 14 years of experience across Mathematics, Science, and other school subjects, working with learners from primary to secondary levels. My journey began in classroom teaching, where I developed a strong interest in making learning meaningful, engaging, and accessible to every learner. Over the years, I have also taken on roles in teacher mentoring, curriculum development, content review, quality control, and classroom observation. I particularly enjoy designing learning experiences that encourage curiosity, questioning, problem-solving, and productive struggle, while creating a safe space for learners to express their ideas and doubts. I am passionate about continuous professional growth, mentoring educators, exploring effective learning practices, and developing my skills in communication, career guidance, and personal development. Beyond academics, I enjoy learning new things, exploring creative ideas, and finding ways to connect education with real-life experiences.

I have always been someone who wants to understand the “why” behind what I learn, and naturally, I have enjoyed sharing that understanding with others. My teaching journey began when I was in Grade 9, as a peer tutor, helping my classmates understand concepts they found difficult. Over time, I went on to teach CBSE and ICSE courses and later taught CA and CMA (ICMAI) students. I then worked with a Big 4 firm, where I found myself training others on processes and helping them understand how the work was done. What stayed with me most was the satisfaction I felt when I could help someone overcome something they had been struggling with.

That realisation made me understand that teaching was not just something I enjoyed doing—it was what truly gave me a sense of purpose. I started taking classes and tuition, explored teaching opportunities across different platforms, and eventually joined a school. My journey then brought me to 21K School, where I have continued to grow as an educator while working with learners and supporting fellow educators. Today, I am taking the next step in my journey by working with the Learning Excellence team, where my focus is on improving learning experiences and contributing beyond the classroom. Looking back, the path may have taken different turns, but the purpose has remained the same: I enjoy learning, understanding, and helping others learn better.
