About Soundariya

Academic Coordinator at 21K School, passionate about Cambridge education, learner agency, and creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences for young learners.

Soundariya is an education professional and Academic Coordinator at 21K School, where she leads the Middle School academic team across Grades 6–8, following the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum. Her journey in education has been shaped by a deep belief that learning goes beyond textbooks and classrooms—it is about curiosity, confidence, collaboration, and empowering every learner to take ownership of their learning.

Over the years, her experience in teaching and academic leadership has given her the opportunity to work closely with facilitators, learners, and academic teams to strengthen teaching practices, curriculum delivery, assessment, and learner engagement. In her current role, she focuses on building collaborative teams, nurturing innovative classroom practices, and ensuring that learning experiences are purposeful, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of today’s learners.

She is particularly passionate about learner agency, critical thinking, active learning, and meaningful use of technology in education. She believes that effective education happens when facilitators create the right environment for learners to question, explore, create, reflect, and grow with confidence.

At 21K School, Soundariya continues to contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement—supporting facilitators in their professional growth while working towards creating engaging and enriching learning experiences for every learner.

I have always believed that teaching is about much more than what happens inside a classroom. What began as a passion for working with young minds gradually became a journey of learning, unlearning, and growing alongside my learners. One of the most rewarding parts of my journey has been seeing a learner who once hesitated to speak, question, or try something new slowly find their confidence and realise that their voice matters. Those moments remind me why I chose education.

Today, as an Academic Coordinator, I continue to carry the same belief with me—I want to create spaces where learners feel safe to be curious, make mistakes, ask questions, and discover what they are capable of. I also believe that educators never stop being learners themselves, and every facilitator, learner, and experience along the way has taught me something valuable. For me, teaching is ultimately about making a difference that lasts beyond a lesson, a classroom, or an academic year.

Soundariya’s Philosophy

I believe every learner is capable of growth when given the right environment, encouragement, and opportunities to explore.
I believe learning should spark curiosity, not simply deliver information.
I believe learners learn best when they question, collaborate, create, and take ownership of their learning.
I believe mistakes are not failures, but opportunities to reflect, learn, and grow.
I believe great education begins with strong relationships, empathy, and the belief that every learner’s voice matters.
I believe educators must continue to learn, adapt, and grow alongside their learners.
