Dr. Deepa Sehrawat is a passionate English educator, researcher, and published author with over eight years of experience in school and higher education. Her teaching journey has encompassed Cambridge, IB-MYP, IB-DP, and CBSE and ICSE curricula, as well as university-level English education. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and is a Gold Medalist in M.A. English, bringing strong academic expertise in English Language & Literature, grammar, academic writing, and communication. Over the years, she has focused on creating student-centred, engaging, and inquiry-driven learning experiences that nurture critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and effective communication. Alongside teaching, she has actively contributed to research and academic publishing, with research articles, book chapters, and authored and co-authored books to her credit.
I believe teachers are people who choose to teach—but for me, teaching began long before I chose it as a career. As far back as I can remember, I was teaching my siblings when I was in Grade 6. What started with explaining their lessons and helping them learn gradually became a passion and eventually my profession. Today, I teach because I believe in the power of education to build confidence, nurture curiosity, and help learners find their own voice. Seeing a hesitant learner become confident in expressing an idea is what continues to make teaching deeply meaningful to me.
