Quick enquiry
The final years of school shape far more than a Board result. They influence the subjects a learner pursues, the universities they can consider and the confidence with which they step into adult life.
At 21K School, your child can complete High School online through NIOS, Cambridge International or Pearson Edexcel. Live classes with subject experts, flexible subject combinations, structured Board preparation and dedicated academic, career and wellbeing support come together around one goal: helping every learner move towards the future that is right for them.
We are an accredited online Cambridge International School (IA702) and an approved Pearson Edexcel Online School (94883). NIOS is a Board pathway, not an accreditation of the school.
This is a complete school pathway with the rigour High School demands and the flexibility young people increasingly need.
Why families choose 21K School for Grades 9–12
Recognised academic pathways, considered subject choices and structured support—without requiring families to relocate for school.
By Grade 9, the question is no longer only where a child will study. Parents are thinking about Board recognition, subject combinations, examination preparation, university eligibility and whether the school will understand the learner behind the marks.
Some families need access to high-quality education without relocating. Some are supporting a young athlete, performer, creator or entrepreneur. Others feel that a rigid school structure is limiting their child’s progress, wellbeing or ability to pursue a meaningful direction.
21K School offers another credible way. Learners attend live weekday classes, study with subject-matter experts, complete assignments and assessments, prepare systematically for Board examinations and participate in a wider school community. At the same time, they gain greater control over their subjects, schedule and learning environment.
Expert Academic Leadership
High School has a dedicated academic structure for Grades 9 to 12 across the Indian and British pathways. Subject specialists lead classes, while the School Principal is accessible when families need senior academic guidance or an important decision must be made.
Flexibility with Direction
Choice is valuable only when it is informed. Before admission, the academic team reviews the learner’s previous performance, intended subjects and future plans. This helps families select an appropriate pathway without being left to navigate high-stakes decisions alone.
Support for the Whole Learner
Board preparation matters, but so do confidence, wellbeing and a sense of direction. Academic support, career guidance and counselling work together to help learners manage these demanding years more thoughtfully.
Choose the high school pathway that fits your child’s future
Three High School routes—NIOS, Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, all with different approaches to subjects, assessment and progression.
There is no single best pathway for every learner. The right choice depends on previous schooling, preferred subjects, assessment style, university plans and the country in which the learner may study next. At 21K School, families can choose from one Indian and two international High School routes.

Indian high school through NIOS
The NIOS Secondary Course covers Grades 9 and 10 and leads to a qualification equivalent to Class 10. The NIOS Senior Secondary Course covers Grades 11 and 12 and leads to a qualification equivalent to Class 12.
NIOS is a national Board established by the Government of India. Its open-schooling framework provides considerable flexibility in subjects and progression. Learners study with 21K School and appear for the final NIOS examinations as private candidates at designated physical examination centres.
NIOS is a Board pathway, not an accreditation of the school. NIOS conducts its own examinations and issues its own certificates.
Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level (IA702)
A British pathway from IGCSE to AS & A Level, designed around conceptual understanding, subject depth and internationally recognised qualifications.
Cambridge IGCSE is offered in Grades 9 and 10. Learners progressing into Grades 11 and 12 can continue with Cambridge International AS & A Level.
The Cambridge pathway combines internationally benchmarked qualifications with broad subject choice and clear progression to universities in India and around the world. It is well suited to learners who value conceptual depth, application and internationally recognised assessment.
Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level (94883)
A British High School pathway for Grades 11 and 12, combining subject depth with a modular qualification structure and international recognition.
Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level is available in Grades 11 and 12. Its modular structure and international recognition give learners another flexible route towards university study in India or abroad.
Unsure which pathway to choose?
A parent may begin with a preference for one Board and discover that another better suits the learner’s subjects, assessment preferences or university plans. Our academic team helps families compare the pathways before they commit.
Flexible subject combinations without rigid streams
Subjects can be planned around a learner’s strengths, interests and future goals, within the rules of the chosen Board and 21K School’s available offerings.
A learner’s interests do not always fit neatly into Science, Commerce or Humanities. At 21K School, learners can combine subjects across traditional stream boundaries wherever the chosen Board permits.
This means a learner may build a programme around mathematics and economics, science and psychology, business and computing, or another purposeful combination aligned with their strengths and future plans. Conventional stream labels are used only to help families navigate familiar routes such as engineering or medicine; they do not define the limits of what a learner can study.
Every combination is reviewed against Board rules, subject prerequisites, examination availability and university-entry requirements. The academic team pays particular attention to the transition from Grade 10 to Grade 11, when subject choices can open or narrow future opportunities.
Complete schooling remains the priority
Most learners join 21K for a complete High School pathway. Where appropriate, a learner may also study one or more selected subjects with 21K—for example, to add a subject or overcome a timetable or access constraint elsewhere. Selected-subject enrolment is a separate option and does not by itself meet a Board’s requirements for complete certification.
Subject options across all three pathways
Explore what your child can study across NIOS, Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, with fees based on the pathway and subjects selected.
Subject options span languages, mathematics, sciences, social sciences, commerce, humanities, technology, creative subjects and selected vocational areas. Availability varies across NIOS, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel, giving learners room to build a programme that reflects both academic requirements and personal direction.
For NIOS Secondary and Senior Secondary certification, learners must pass at least five subjects, including the required language component. They may choose up to two additional subjects, taking the maximum to seven. Cambridge and Pearson subject loads follow the rules of the relevant qualification and the learner’s progression plan.
Fees are calculated according to the pathway and number of subjects selected. This gives families the flexibility to choose what the learner genuinely needs while keeping the complete schooling pathway at the centre.

Board preparation that begins long before the examination
Examination readiness develops progressively through live teaching, regular assessment, feedback and practice—not through last-minute preparation.
Strong Board results are built steadily. Learners prepare through live teaching, diagnostic insight, regular assessments, timed writing, past-paper practice, pre-Board examinations and mock examinations.
Facilitators help learners understand command words, mark schemes, response structure and time management. They also learn to recognise the difference between understanding a concept and communicating that understanding effectively in an examination.
21K School has achieved 100% results in NIOS Grade 10 and Grade 12 Board examinations. Since May 2022, more than 350 learners have taken Cambridge IGCSE, AS or A Level examinations through 21K School. The school has maintained a near-100% Cambridge IGCSE pass rate and has received two Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards.
University and career preparation with a longer view
Guidance begins with subject choices in Grade 9, helping learners connect their strengths and interests with possibilities beyond school.
University preparation should not begin only when applications open. Subject choices, performance patterns and emerging interests across Grades 9 and 10 often provide valuable clues about what may suit a learner later.
21K supports learners through psychometric and career assessments, subject-selection counselling, career guidance, career fairs and one-to-one conversations with learners and parents. The transition from Grade 10 to Grade 11 receives special attention so that subject choices reflect both demonstrated strengths and future possibilities.
From University Shortlisting to Application
Through its university-support ecosystem, including its association with IDP, 21K helps learners understand suitable programmes and institutions in India and abroad. Support may include university shortlisting, application planning, essays and recommendation letters.
Guidance Without Making False Promises
21K helps families understand prerequisites, timelines and possible preparation routes, but does not provide coaching for competitive entrance examinations. Parents remain free to select specialised external coaching where their child requires it.
Where 21K Learners Have Progressed
Learners have progressed to institutions including IIT Madras, Monash University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the University of Turin, Hang Seng University, Strathmore University, the University of Sharjah, Asia Pacific University, Vistula University and Middlesex University Dubai.
How online high school works
Live subject classes, independent study, digital resources and specialist support come together in a structured High School experience.
High School combines live online classes, independent study, digital resources, assignments, assessment and facilitator feedback. It is not a continuous video call or a collection of recorded lessons. Learners follow a structured academic programme and a timetable built around the subjects they have chosen.
Every class is led by a subject-matter expert. Learners can approach their Class Facilitators for academic help and access the School Principal when they need senior academic guidance. All facilitators have an average teaching experience of 6.7 years. Professional counsellors, the Learner Support team and a dedicated non-academic support team provide additional support across the school experience.
Unlike Grades 1 to 8, High School does not have a separate Class Mentor. The support structure becomes more specialised as learners grow more independent.

Classes capped at 24
A class cap of 24 allows learners to ask questions, participate in discussions and receive feedback while learning alongside a meaningful peer group. As subject combinations vary, learners may meet different classmates across their timetable.
A subject timetable, not one continuous school block
Classes are spread across the day by subject.
High School operates five days a week across two windows: 9:30 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. IST and 11:10 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. IST. Learners do not attend continuously throughout the window. Their classes are placed across the day according to the subjects they have selected, with gaps and breaks between sessions.
This structure makes flexible combinations possible and creates time for independent study, assignments, projects, sport, performance, travel or other serious commitments. It also develops an important High School skill: the ability to organise time and take responsibility for progress.
Daily learning and screen-time balance
Live classes are balanced with independent study, written work, projects and regular breaks across the learning day.
Live classes are only one part of the day. Senior learners also read, write, solve problems, conduct research, complete assignments, revise independently and work on projects away from live sessions.
Because the timetable is subject-based, screen time is distributed across the learner’s chosen classes rather than imposed as one uninterrupted block. Regular breaks, independent work and varied learning activities help create a more sustainable rhythm.

How exams and certification work
School assessments are generally completed online, while required Board examinations are taken in person and assessed according to the rules of the relevant Board or awarding body.
School-based assessments are generally completed online and may include assignments, quizzes, projects, presentations, written responses, timed papers and mock examinations. Facilitators use this evidence to identify learning gaps, strengthen examination technique and guide further study.
Final board examinations take place physically
Final NIOS Grade 10 and Grade 12 examinations, Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations, and applicable Pearson Edexcel examinations are completed at designated physical examination centres.
The respective Board governs the final examination and evaluation and issues the marksheets, certificates and other applicable documents. These qualifications are recognised for progression in India and internationally, subject to the entry requirements of the receiving institution.
21K School supports families with examination registration and centre coordination in India and abroad. Partnered Cambridge and Pearson examination venues are currently available in Bengaluru and Delhi, with Mumbai being expanded.
Science learning and practical assessments
Science learning at 21K School is supported through virtual laboratories, facilitator demonstrations and experiments that can be conducted safely at home. Virtual labs allow learners to observe processes, test variables and revisit concepts until the underlying science is clear.
Cambridge science subjects may include Board-assessed practical requirements completed at designated examination venues. For Pearson Edexcel International A Level sciences, practical skills are assessed through written examination papers, principally the dedicated Unit 3 and Unit 6 papers in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Pearson still expects practical knowledge and encourages learners to undertake core practical activities as part of learning.
Parents remain informed without managing every lesson
As High School learners become more independent, parents stay informed through progress reports, assessment evidence, facilitator feedback and individual conversations.
Senior learners need increasing independence, but parents must not be left without visibility. Progress is communicated through assessment evidence, reports, facilitator feedback and conversations when academic or wellbeing concerns require attention.
Parents can participate in one-to-one discussions with the academic or support teams, particularly when the learner is selecting subjects, planning progression or navigating a difficult period. The aim is partnership without making the parent responsible for delivering the curriculum.
Support for wellbeing during high-pressure years
Counselling and learner support help High School learners navigate examination stress, expectations, setbacks and uncertainty about what comes next.
High School can bring examination stress, peer comparison, parental expectations and uncertainty about the future. These pressures can affect even capable learners.
Dedicated counsellors and the Learner Support team conduct sessions and conversations around stress management, examination pressure, peer and parental pressure, accepting setbacks and building healthier study habits. Learners and parents can also access individual support when needed.
The message to every learner is clear: strong performance matters, but one examination does not define who they are.
Learning beyond board examinations
Clubs, leadership and projects alongside board study
A serious High School education should prepare learners for examinations without reducing them to examination scores. Learners can take part in assemblies, clubs, competitions, leadership opportunities, Model United Nations, TED-Ed Student Talks Program, entrepreneurship, AI, coding, public speaking, music, dance, art and other experiences across the 21K learning ecosystem.
Learning Garages by 21K School are physical spaces where learners from all schools can get a first hand experience in building products and technology from scratch. There are presently four Learning Garages in India - Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi with plans to expand more in the coming years.
Virtual laboratories support scientific understanding, while projects and enrichment help learners apply ideas, communicate, collaborate and create. Selected in-person events, Learning Garage experiences and city-based community activities add further opportunities where available.
Technology that keeps learning organised
One learning environment brings classes, resources, assignments, assessments, feedback and progress information together.
The 21K learning platform brings live classes, lesson resources, assignments, assessments, feedback and progress information together in one environment. Digital tools make learning easier to access and organise while facilitators remain central to teaching, judgement and support. There were 49,680 pages of learner work marked (academic year 2025–26).
Learners use virtual laboratories, digital resources and personalised practice as part of their studies. They are also expected to follow clear standards for attendance, communication, academic integrity, privacy and responsible digital conduct.
Meet the people who guide high school learning
Qualified subject specialists and dedicated High School leaders guide learners through subjects, examinations, wellbeing and future progression.
High School Class Facilitators are subject-matter experts selected for their qualifications, teaching capability and ability to prepare learners for Board-level study. Ongoing professional development strengthens their practice in pedagogy, assessment, learning science and learner engagement.
The Indian and British High Schools each have dedicated academic leadership for Grades 9 to 12, recognising that these years require specialised judgement around subjects, examinations, learner wellbeing and university progression.
Learner achievements and parent stories
Real outcomes from 21K High School learners.
The most meaningful outcomes are visible in what learners go on to do: complete recognised qualifications, achieve strong Board results, enter respected universities, pursue high-performance sport or creative work, and develop the self-direction required beyond school.
Hear directly from learners and parents about choosing a pathway, preparing for Board examinations, balancing school with other ambitions and moving confidently into university.
Recognised pathways and clearly defined responsibilities
21K School teaches, prepares and supports learners; the relevant Board or awarding body sets its qualification requirements, conducts or assesses the applicable examinations, and issues official certification.
NIOS
National Institute of Open Schooling, NIOS, is a national Board established by the Government of India and authorised to register, examine and certify learners through the open-schooling system. 21K School provides live teaching, academic structure, Board preparation and examination support. Eligible learners appear for NIOS examinations as private candidates and receive their final certification from NIOS.
Cambridge International
21K School is a registered online Cambridge International School. Learners can study Cambridge programmes fully online and sit their final examinations at an approved Cambridge examination venue.
Pearson Edexcel
21K School is an approved Pearson Edexcel Online School. This approval applies to its online-school provision. Learners complete the relevant Pearson Edexcel programme online with 21K and appear for final examinations at an approved physical examination venue.
Fees designed around pathway and subject choice
High School fees reflect the chosen pathway and number of subjects, giving families clarity around what their learner is enrolled for.
High School fees depend on the pathway and number of subjects selected. This allows families to build an appropriate combination and also makes selected-subject enrolment possible for learners who do not require the complete pathway from 21K.
The live Fees page provides current amounts, inclusions, payment options and applicable terms and conditions.
How admission works
From academic conversation to confirmed subjects.
- 1
Start with an academic conversation
Every applicant discusses their previous academic record, intended subjects and pathway choice with the High School Principal or an authorised High School Facilitator. This is an important academic conversation, not merely an admission formality.
- 2
Share previous academic records
Families submit the learner’s previous report cards. Where the academic team needs greater clarity, the Principal may recommend a diagnostic assessment before advising on placement or subject choice.
- 3
Confirm pathway and subject suitability
The academic team considers the learner’s age, prior learning, subjects, progression plans and eligibility for future Board registration. Eligible younger learners from accelerated or homeschooling pathways may be considered after academic review. The programmes are designed for school-age learners and are not offered as adult education.
Understand commencement and admission timelines
Grades 9 and 10 begin in April. Grade 11’s formal subject programme generally begins in June after Grade 10 Board results, while April and May provide bridging and foundational review. Grade 12 generally begins in June for NIOS and Pearson Edexcel. Cambridge Grade 12 may begin in July depending on AS Level examination dates and results.
Admissions in Grade 9 and Grade 11 remain subject to academic suitability, seat availability and Board requirements. Direct admission into Grades 10 and 12 is normally not offered. Exceptional cases may be considered by the relevant High School Principal after reviewing previous learning, course continuity, academic readiness and Board-registration feasibility; no universal exception deadline is promised.
Questions parents and learners ask about high school
Is 21K School a complete online High School?
Yes. 21K School is a complete online High School in which learners attend live classes, follow a structured Indian or international pathway, study with subject experts, complete assessments, enable learning through assessment and learning preparations for the Board exams and be a member of a bigger school community.
Which High School pathways are available?
High School pathways for Grades 9-12, NIOS, Grade 9-10, Cambridge IGCSE and Grade 11-12 Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level/Cambridge International AS and A Level are available.
How do we know which pathway is right for our child?
This decision rests on past education, courses, assessment opportunities, university means, and future career development in geography. An essential academic discussion before acceptance helps families compare these variables.
Can my child choose subjects across traditional streams?
Yes, where the relevant Board permits. 21K does not impose rigid Science, Commerce and Humanities streams. Subject combinations are reviewed against Board rules, prerequisites and university-entry requirements.
Can my child study only one subject with 21K?
In suitable cases, yes. Selected-subject enrolment is available as a secondary option. It is different from a complete High School pathway and does not by itself meet a Board’s requirements for certification.
How many subjects are required?
NIOS certification requires at least five subjects, including the required language component, and permits up to seven. Cambridge and Pearson requirements depend on the qualification and the learner’s progression plan. The academic team confirms the correct load before enrolment.
How large are High School classes?
Classes are capped at 24 learners.
Will my child attend online classes all day?
No. The school operates across two windows so that different subjects can be scheduled through the day. Each learner attends the classes assigned to their individual subject timetable, with gaps and breaks between sessions.
Are final Board examinations online?
No. Final NIOS, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel Board examinations are completed at designated physical examination centres. 21K supports registration and centre coordination, while the respective Board governs evaluation and certification.
Does 21K provide entrance-exam coaching?
No. 21K provides Board preparation, subject counselling, career guidance and support in understanding university or entrance requirements. Families may select specialised external coaching independently.
What support is available beyond subject teaching?
Learners can access the School Principal, professional counsellors, the Learner Support team and a dedicated non-academic support team. The support structure is designed for the greater independence and specialised needs of Grades 9 to 12.
Can a learner join Grade 10 or Grade 12 directly?
Direct admission is normally not offered in Board-examination years. An exceptional case may be considered only when previous learning, academic readiness and Board-registration timelines make admission viable.
Is online High School suitable for every learner?
It works best for learners who can participate consistently, communicate when they need help and take increasing responsibility for independent study. Families should discuss learning needs, wellbeing concerns and support expectations openly before admission.
Help your child choose a pathway with confidence
High School should open possibilities, not force an early compromise between recognition, flexibility and meaningful support. Speak with our academic team to understand which pathway, subjects and progression plan best fit your child’s future.
