Hybrid and Global Learning at 21K School, Puducherry
A full campus education strengthened by the reach of the wider 21K Learning ecosystem

A physical school with a wider horizon
21K School, Puducherry is a full-time, on-campus school. Core academic classes, relationships, laboratories, making, arts, sport, clubs and the everyday life of the school take place face-to-face. Digital and online experiences are used to expand choice, expertise and connection; they do not replace the physical campus or make attendance optional.
This distinction matters. Hybrid learning at 21K is not a child spending the school day alone in front of a screen. It is a deliberately connected model in which the stability of a real campus is strengthened by selected online resources, educators, programmes and communities that would be difficult for one location to provide on its own.

What is available on campus
Core teaching is led face-to-face by campus facilitators within a structured Monday-to-Friday school day. Pre-Primary and Primary learners have the continuity of a homeroom facilitator supported by specialists, while Middle and future Senior School learners progressively work with subject-specialist facilitators.
Books, handwriting, discussion, collaborative work, laboratories, the Learning Garage, physical education, visual and performing arts, clubs, Houses, events, friendships and outdoor play remain part of the lived campus experience. Tamil and French are planned as on-campus language choices, subject to grade and programme availability.
Learning evidence gathered through classroom work, educator observation, projects and assessments informs reinforcement, enrichment and Zero Period support. Families interact with the school as a physical community, supported by scheduled and on-demand parent connects and formal progress reporting.
What extends online and beyond the campus
Selected online opportunities give campus learners access to the wider capabilities of 21K School. These may include 11 additional languages beyond Tamil and French, creating selected access to 13 languages in all, subject to grade, timetable and programme availability.
Learners may also access the personalised learning platform, online formative assessments, digital or virtual library resources, Mastery programmes, Capstones, benchmark testing and selected global events. The exact combination will vary by age and programme; not every service will operate in the same way for every grade.
Online connections may bring educators, counsellors and relevant specialists beyond the physical campus into a learner’s support network. They may also enable meaningful collaboration with learners across the wider 21K community and participation in selected shared programmes, events or learning journeys.

How the two modes connect
Campus facilitators remain responsible for the learner’s core school experience. Online evidence and resources can help them see patterns, offer targeted practice, introduce a specialist perspective or extend a learner who is ready for greater challenge. The aim is continuity: one learning journey with different tools, not two disconnected schools.
Technology is used according to age. Nursery to KG2 learners will not require personal laptops or use the Computer Lab as part of their regular programme. Grades 1 and 2 may use the Computer Lab or a device at home when required. From Grade 3, learners will bring the prescribed laptop with a webcam and headphones; a limited day-loan facility is planned through the library.
Global learning without losing local belonging
Global learning begins with the ability to understand other perspectives, communicate across differences and apply knowledge to wider questions. Selected global events, cross-community interactions, wider educator expertise and optional national or international learning journeys can extend a learner’s horizon while the campus remains their daily academic and social home.
Questions parents ask
Is this an online school or a physical school?
It is a physical, full-time school. Core teaching and campus life take place face-to-face; selected online systems, specialists and programmes extend the on-campus model.
Which learning opportunities are available online?
Depending on grade and programme, these may include additional languages, personalised practice, formative assessments, digital library resources, Mastery programmes, Capstones, benchmark testing, specialists and selected global events.
Will learners attend academic classes from home?
The regular programme is campus-based. Any home access to digital resources or selected online activities will support the school programme rather than replace daily attendance.
Will every learner need a laptop?
No. Nursery to KG2 will not require laptops. Grades 1 and 2 may use the Computer Lab or a home device when required. A prescribed laptop is required from Grade 3, with limited day-loan support planned through the library.
Does global learning mean international travel is compulsory?
No. Global connection can occur through curriculum, people, digital collaboration and events. National or international journeys, where offered, will be optional and subject to eligibility, permissions, safety and programme availability.
