About Hemali
Educator and academic leader with strong skills in management, communication, learning design, and stakeholder engagement. Passionate about continuous learning, problem-solving, and creating meaningful learning experiences that drive positive outcomes.
My teaching journey has been shaped by a deep passion for science, continuous learning, and the belief that education should go beyond simply delivering content. Over the years, I have worked with learners across different age groups and curricula, with a particular focus on Chemistry and international programmes such as IB, Cambridge and Edexcel. My approach combines conceptual clarity, problem-solving, inquiry, and meaningful classroom interaction, while encouraging learners to think independently and apply their understanding to real-world contexts. Alongside teaching, I have taken on academic leadership and coordination responsibilities, supporting fellow educators, collaborating with parents and stakeholders, and contributing to the development of effective learning practices. I value listening, empathy, humour, and open communication, and I strive to create a learning environment where learners feel confident to ask questions, take responsibility, and develop both academically and personally. For me, teaching is a continuous journey of learning, reflection, and making a positive difference in the lives of learners.
My journey in education began with my earlier experience as a trainer, where I discovered how much I enjoyed helping people understand new ideas and develop their skills. My corporate experience gave me valuable exposure to communication, collaboration, professionalism, project management, and understanding the needs of different stakeholders. As I moved into education, I found an opportunity to bring these experiences together with my passion for science, learning, and curriculum design. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with high-school learners, particularly in Chemistry and international curricula, while also taking on academic leadership, curriculum development, and teacher-support responsibilities. What continues to inspire me is the moment when a learner moves from uncertainty to understanding—when a difficult concept suddenly becomes clear and they gain the confidence to solve a problem independently. For me, teaching is much more than delivering a lesson; it is about listening, encouraging curiosity, building confidence, and helping learners develop the skills to think and learn for themselves. My own journey from trainer to Project Manager, educator, and academic leader has reinforced one belief: learning never really stops, and the best educators remain learners themselves.
