Narmatha Pandiaraj

Narmatha Pandiaraj is a passionate Tamil Facilitator with 15 years of experience teaching Tamil language and literature across Grades 1–10. With a B.A. in Tamil, B.Ed. in Tamil Literature and M.A. in Tamil Literature, she brings strong subject knowledge together with a learner-centred approach to language education. At 21K School, she designs purposeful learning experiences that encourage learners to think, communicate, collaborate, create and reflect. Her facilitation draws on experiential learning, the 5E learning cycle, ATL and Habits of Mind, Visual Thinking Routines, LSRW development and differentiated learning to make Tamil meaningful and accessible to diverse learners. She believes that language learning becomes powerful when learners connect what they learn with their own experiences, culture and the world around them.

Teaching has always been more than a profession for me—it is my passion and a part of who I am. My father and grandfather were both Tamil teachers, so from childhood, I grew up surrounded by Tamil language, literature and teaching. I was naturally drawn to teaching and would often find myself pretending to teach, explain and share what I knew. As I grew older, that childhood passion became my purpose. Today, I feel fortunate to carry forward my family’s love for Tamil while creating my own journey as an educator and inspiring learners to discover the beauty and richness of the language.
