About Anushka
English Language & Literature and Global Perspectives educator with over four years of experience across IGCSE, CBSE, and Cambridge curriculum frameworks blending inquiry-driven teaching with educational technology to keep students engaged.
My teaching journey began with a simple belief: that a facilitator has the power to shape how young people see the world. I spent over three years at SPK Jain Futuristic Academy in Kolkata, teaching English Language and Literature across the IGCSE and CBSE frameworks, where I also took on Global Perspectives for three years guiding students through student-led inquiry, research, and collaborative projects on real global issues. That's where I found my footing as an educator: designing inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, and using AI-powered tools to build more personalised learning pathways. I collaborated closely with academic leadership on curriculum innovations, and I made it a point to bring students into the life of the school beyond the classroom through quizzes, debates, Model United Nations, and cultural events in dance, music, and drama. That experience, along with earlier work in public speaking instruction and my Master's in English from Rabindra Bharati University, laid the foundation for the inquiry-driven, student-centred approach I continue to bring to my teaching today at 21K School.
I teach because I love watching a student find their voice in an essay, a debate, or a song. What keeps me in the classroom is the moment a quiet student leans into a Global Perspectives discussion because they've found something they truly care about, or a student I've coached in public speaking finally stands up and speaks with confidence.
I bring my love of music I sing and play the ukulele into the dance, drama, and music clubs I lead, because I believe learning happens as much outside the syllabus as within it. For me, teaching is about creating a space where students feel safe to ask questions and confident that their perspective matters.
