"With over 6 years of experience as a Primary Social Studies Facilitator, I have had the privilege of working with young learners and witnessing their curiosity, confidence. My teaching journey has been shaped by the belief that Social Studies is not just about learning facts, places, and events—it is about helping children understand the world they live in and their role within it.

I strive to create engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences where learners are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, share perspectives, and connect classroom concepts with real-life situations. I believe in creating a classroom environment where every learner feels heard, valued, and empowered to participate. Through activities, discussions, real-world connections, and reflective learning, I aim to develop not only subject knowledge but also critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, and a sense of responsibility.

Over the years, my passion has evolved from simply teaching concepts to designing meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity and encourage learners to become thoughtful, confident, and lifelong learners. As an educator, I continue to learn, reflect, and adapt, with the goal of making every learning experience purposeful, engaging, and memorable.

"I believe teaching is not just about helping children learn a subject—it is about being part of the journey in which they discover who they are and how they see the world. Over the past 10 years as a Primary SST Facilitator, I have realised that some of the most meaningful moments in teaching happen when a learner asks a question that goes beyond the textbook, makes a connection to real life, or suddenly says, “Oh, now I understand!”

These little moments remind me why I chose this profession. I love creating learning experiences that turn curiosity into questions, questions into exploration, and exploration into understanding. For me, Social Studies is a wonderful way to help young learners become more aware of their surroundings, appreciate different perspectives, think critically, and develop empathy.

What keeps me inspired is knowing that every learner brings a different story, curiosity, and way of thinking into the classroom. If I can spark even one question, encourage one learner to think differently, or help a child feel confident enough to share their voice, I feel I have made a meaningful difference. That, for me, is the true joy of teaching. "
