Smita Vishal Pise

With over a decade of experience in the field of Special Education and Inclusion, I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups of learners, including individuals with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities. My professional journey has included extensive experience in IGCSE and IB curriculum schools, giving me a strong understanding of international educational practices and the importance of creating inclusive learning environments.

I currently work as a Special Needs Coordinator, where I play a key role in supporting learners with diverse educational needs and fostering a culture of inclusion across the school. In this role, I collaborate with teachers, families, school leadership, and specialists to develop individualized support strategies, facilitate differentiated instruction, monitor learner progress, and ensure that appropriate accommodations and interventions are in place.

My professional philosophy is rooted in inclusive education, differentiated instruction, integration, and equitable access to learning. I strongly believe that every learner has the potential to learn, grow, and thrive when provided with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. Patience, compassion, and perseverance have been my strongest attributes throughout my career and continue to guide my approach to working with learners.

My inspiration for working with children with special educational needs comes from my mother, a social worker who has dedicated herself extensively to supporting children with special needs. Her compassion, commitment, and service have been a constant source of inspiration and have deeply influenced my own professional journey.

Having worked extensively in international curriculum settings, I value the emphasis these environments place on diversity, individuality, and recognizing the unique strengths and differences of every learner. I have also played a significant role in formulating and developing the Inclusion Policy for my school, contributing towards the creation of a structured framework that promotes participation, accessibility, and meaningful inclusion for all learners.

In my practice, I work closely with each learner to understand their individual strengths, needs, and learning profiles. I provide the individualized support, encouragement, and positive reinforcement they require while working alongside classroom teachers to implement differentiated strategies and remove barriers to learning.

I believe that successful inclusion is a collaborative process. As a Special Needs Coordinator, I work closely with teachers, parents, school leadership, and external specialists to ensure continuity of support and to promote the overall development and well-being of each learner. My aim is to help learners become increasingly independent, confident, and active participants in their learning journey, both inside and outside the classroom.

I am passionate about continuing to learn and grow within the field of Special Education and Inclusion. I look forward to contributing my experience, knowledge, compassion, and commitment to an organization that shares my vision of creating inclusive, accessible, and empowering learning environments where every learner is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to reach their potential.
