About Sohini
I am a Senior Secondary English Facilitator at 21K Indian Senior School, with a passion for dynamic teaching, innovative learning, and empowering students to excel, backed by my experience as PGT/HoD (English) at Amrita Vidyalayam, New Delhi. As a bibliophile, Soft Skills Consultant, HP IDEA Fellow, and NITI Aayog-recognised Teacher Trainer, I bring creativity, purpose, and a love for learning to everything I do.
I am a high school English educator with over 14 years of teaching experience, including 12 enriching years at Amrita Vidyalayam and my current role at 21K School, India’s first online-only school. Over the years, I have developed a deep interest in curriculum design, assessment, and language instruction, with a strong focus on creating engaging learning experiences that encourage students to participate, think critically, and express themselves with confidence.
As an educator, I believe that a classroom—virtual or physical—should be a space where students feel heard, curious, and empowered to learn. This belief shapes the way I design lessons, assessments, and learning experiences.
I am a certified SEL facilitator from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Peace and Sustainability, an HP IDEA Fellow, and a practitioner with the Institute for Habits of Mind, California, USA. Alongside teaching, I enjoy mentoring educators, facilitating professional development, and leading collaborative academic initiatives. My training sessions are designed to be interactive, practical, and closely connected to the realities teachers encounter in their classrooms.
I am currently pursuing a PGDEMA from IGNOU, which is helping me broaden my understanding of educational administration and leadership. I see myself as a lifelong learner, constantly reflecting on my practice, learning from others, and looking for meaningful ways to make education more engaging and impactful.
For me, teaching began with a simple fascination, the magic of watching a mind come alive with an idea. I teach because I want my classroom to be a place where questions are welcomed, mistakes are not feared, and every learner feels they have something meaningful to contribute. The most rewarding moments are often the quiet ones: a spark in a student’s eyes, a newfound confidence, or the courage to try once more. Every learner I meet leaves me with a new perspective, and that keeps me growing alongside them. I teach because English literature, at its heart, is not just about preparing children for life, it is about helping them discover who they can become.

Sohini’s Philosophy
Curiosity over conformity — encourage learners to question, explore, and think independently.
Every voice matters — create a classroom where students feel seen, heard, and valued.
Learning through doing — make lessons active, meaningful, and connected to real life.
Mistakes are milestones — nurture confidence by making room for failure, reflection, and growth.
Teach the whole child — develop not just academic skills, but empathy, resilience, and character.
Keep learning, always — grow alongside my students and remain open to new ideas.
