Motopaws
Shantanu established Motopaws in January 2009 to prevent stray dogs from dying on the road at night due to poor vision. Months of toil and study went into developing the Motopaws collar, a collar with reflectors made exclusively for street dogs to solve this issue. Ratan Tata, the chairman of the TATA group, provided funding for this endeavor. Additionally, Motopaws created anti-poaching devices for tigers in India that used sensor circuits, and it facilitated their adoption through the forest department in four distinct national reserves.
On Your Sparks
In 2020, On Your Sparks was established as a sister project of Motopaws. It is a forum for counseling that aims to encourage and introduce aspiring business owners to the proper principles and values before they enter the startup world. Based on his work experience with Ratan Tata and helping him with mentoring entrepreneurs, Shantanu devised and curated the courses offered. Its main goal is to expand Motopaws’ animal initiatives for stray animal safety, feeding, and rescue across more than 15 cities in the nation. Over 300 kids are taught there each month, and they also assist stray animals.
GoodFellows
There are about 15 million elderly people in India who live alone and lead solitary, lonely lives. Goodfellows focuses on providing companionship to the elderly. It is a young firm that offers senior citizens intergenerational partnerships and refers to itself as a “companionship company.” In order to combat loneliness, it engages young, educated graduates up to the age of 30 to form intergenerational friendships with the elderly.
Shantanu Naidu Career
From 2009 to 2010, Shantanu Naidu first began working as an engineering intern at Tata Technologies. Then, from September 2014 to July 2016, he worked at Tata Elxsi as a Design Engineer following the completion of his mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree.
After taking a sabbatical, he decided to pursue his MBA at Cornell University in the USA in 2016. Shantanu started working as a business strategy intern at Tata Trusts after moving back to India, and he quickly became Ratan Tata’s deputy general manager.
‘I Came Upon A Lighthouse: A Short Memoir of Life’ with Ratan Tata, a book by Shantanu Naidu was released by HarperCollins India in January 2021.
