What is NIOS Block 1?

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) block 1 refers to block 1 phase wherein students can enroll for their 10th or 12th boards respectively.

NIOS i.e. National Institute of Open Schooling) offers two admission cycle duration to enroll for their class 10 or 12 boards exams courses. 

  • Block 1- March to September
  • Block 2- September to March

1. Eligibility

Here are NIOS stream 2 block 1 general eligibility criteria for students who want to appear. 

Class 10:

  • When students fail or could appear in their recognised class 10 boards exams. They can be from either of the boards like ICSE, CBSE or state boards. 

Class12:

  • Students must have not appeared for class 12 boards exam or failed from recognised board. 
  • Students must have passed their class 10 boards exam from a recognised board. 
  • They must be upto 15 years of age or older as per 31 July of admission year.

2. Documents Required:

Students who want to enroll for NIOS stream 2 block 1 shall have these required documents with them. 

  1. Previous mark sheets showing failed or supplementary certificates from recognised boards. 
  2. Adhaar card or address proof certificate. 
  3. Birth certificate or proof of valid age of candidate. 
  4. Class 10 ID or certificate proof or class 12 courses. 
  5. Passport size photographs. 

How to Apply to NIOS Stream 2 Block 1?

Step 1 – Certificates/Eligibility

You must have a minimum age limit of 14 years or older and 15 years or older for class 10 and 12, respectively. These are the age limit for students who want to apply for their re appearance and clearance papers.

Step 7 – Account and Login

Create your account and log in to your portal. This will ensure your personal details about you and your academic processes. You can check and go through it regularly for more updates.

Step 8 – Admission Details

Select admission time session as stream 2 block 1. Update your documents and select the academic session April/ May for stream 2 block 1 part. 

Step 9 – Complete Application Form
