Sports and Playing Fields at 21K School, Puducherry

Movement, teamwork and confidence as part of everyday school life

Every learner should have the opportunity to move

Sport at 21K School, Puducherry is planned as a regular part of the learning programme, not simply an activity for a small group of high performers. Through structured physical education, games and recreational opportunities, learners can develop fitness, coordination, discipline, teamwork and confidence.

The campus is planned to support outdoor football, cricket, basketball, volleyball and skating. Indoor options include table tennis, carrom and chess, supported by an Indoor Activity Hall. The final mix available at any point may depend on age, timetable, weather, staffing and the readiness of individual facilities.

Participation before performance

Learners arrive with different levels of confidence, skill and physical development. Facilitators will focus on safe participation, sound technique and progressive improvement. Children can experience individual and team activities, learn the rules of play and discover forms of movement they genuinely enjoy.

Competition may be part of the experience, but it will not define every child’s relationship with sport. Practice, resilience, fair play, respect for opponents and contribution to a team matter alongside results. The school’s inclusive House system — Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Apple — is intended to build belonging, service, leadership, collaboration and participation rather than depend only on points, rankings or winners.

Physical development and wellbeing

Regular movement supports strength, balance, stamina and coordination. It can also help learners manage energy, concentrate and feel connected to others. Sessions will be planned with suitable warm-ups, instructions, hydration and rest. Activities may be adapted where reasonably possible so that learners with different needs can participate meaningfully.

The academic day is sequenced with attention to children’s energy. Sport and movement therefore sit within a wider rhythm that includes focused lessons, recess, creative learning, laboratories and projects. This balance is intended to support the whole child.
