About Divya

I am a trained and certified Computer Science educator with a passion for teaching, curriculum design, and helping students develop practical digital skills. With my background in Software and Information Technology, along with IBEC, PGDIE, B.Ed., and IB DP Computer Science certifications, I strive to create inclusive, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences that make technology simple and accessible to every learner.

I am a trained and certified Computer Science educator with a strong passion for teaching, curriculum design, and helping learners develop the skills they need to confidently navigate the digital world. I enjoy creating learning experiences that make technology simple, engaging, practical, and meaningful, while encouraging students to think creatively, solve problems, and explore new possibilities.

I hold a Master’s degree in Software and Information Technology, along with a B.Ed., PGDIE, and IBEC. I have also completed IB DP Computer Science CAT 1 and CAT 2 training, which has strengthened my understanding of international curricula and learner-centred approaches to Computer Science education. My academic and professional background allows me to bring together my knowledge of technology with effective teaching practices.

Over the years, I have worked with learners across different age groups and have introduced them to a wide range of ICT and Computer Science tools and technologies. My experience includes programming, computational thinking, digital design, web technologies, physical computing, and creative digital applications. I have hands-on knowledge of Python, HTML, JavaScript, Scratch, MakeCode, Canva, Figma, and other digital tools that help learners move from ideas to practical solutions.

I believe that Computer Science is much more than learning how to code. It is about developing logical thinking, creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience. In my classroom, I encourage learners to ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, test their ideas, and improve their solutions. I particularly enjoy using real-world problems and project-based learning to help students understand how technology can be used to solve meaningful challenges.

As an educator with training in supporting children with special educational needs, I value inclusive teaching and believe that every learner should have an opportunity to succeed. I adapt my teaching strategies, resources, and activities to accommodate different learning needs and styles, creating a classroom environment where learners feel supported, valued, and confident.

I am also passionate about curriculum development and lesson design. I enjoy creating structured units, interactive activities, assessments, and learning resources that connect curriculum objectives with real-life applications. My goal is to ensure that learners do not simply learn a concept for an assessment, but understand why it matters and how they can apply it beyond the classroom.

I continuously look for opportunities to grow as an educator and technology professional. I enjoy exploring emerging technologies, developing new digital resources, and finding innovative ways to make Computer Science learning more interactive and relevant. I aspire to inspire learners to become curious thinkers, responsible digital citizens, creative problem-solvers, and confident users and creators of technology.

I became a teacher because I enjoy seeing students discover something new and realise that they can do more than they thought they could. For me, teaching Computer Science is not only about coding or using technology; it is about helping students think, create, solve problems, and become confident learners.

What I enjoy most is the moment when a student says, “I did it!” after trying, making mistakes, and trying again. These small moments motivate me to keep learning and improving as a teacher. I believe every learner has their own strengths, and my role is to create a supportive classroom where they feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and learning from their mistakes.

I teach because I want students to see technology not just as something they use, but as something they can understand, create, and use to make a difference.
